Apple confirms the new Mac Pro will launch in December

Just as expected, Apple revealed the new 16-inch MacBook Pro today. But amidst that big piece of news was a smaller one: Apple confirmed the new, cheese-grater-looking Mac Pro is still coming out this year. That desktop – as well as the fancy new XDR Display – will be available in December.
And that’s about it. No actual release date or other updates, we just know you’ll be able to buy one next month. The company had previously promised the computer would arrive in the ‘fall,’ so presumably, you’ll be able to buy one before December 21st if Apple wants to keep true to its word. That’s one expensive Christmas gift.
The Mac Pro can be configured with up to
  • A 28-core Intel Xeon (powered by up to 300 watts)
  • 1.5 terabytes of RAM (12 DIMM slots)
  • 8 PCIe slots (64 lanes)
  • 1,400 Watt power supply
  • 8TB of storage
Apple previously revealed the new Mac Pro will start at $5,999 in a base configuration including an 8-core Xeon processor, 32GB of memory, Radeon Pro 580X graphics, and a 256GB SSD . Expect that price to rise dramatically as you add fancier components.
